Reports to:

 

London Regional I.T Manager (Line Manager)

 

The Role:

 

Primarily to be I.T 1st line support engineer covering in multiple countries. You will act as the main point of contact to the end user. You will receive all IT incidents that arrive in to the Service Desk and where possible attempt to provide 1st time resolution / 1st line support. You will escalate more complex IT issues up to 2nd line level. You will also help out in other areas as necessary.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

 

IT Support 1st Line.

To carry out IT Support activities including the following activities as necessary for all regions and staff who use the companies IT Equipment including:

Helpdesk ticket monitoring, management & resolution (Main Duty).

Escalation of tickets & issues to Line Manager (2nd/3rd Line).

Imaging, setting up and moving machines (desktops & laptops).

Software installation for various disciplines / teams.

Updating of documentation (diagrams, procedures etc.).

Monitoring of Backups throughout the organisation

Monitoring and reporting on inter-site replication and inter-site links.

 

 

 

 

Competencies &

Soft Skills:

 

Excellent communication, interpersonal, social skills and telephone manner.

Working knowledge of all major microsoft operating systems.

Working knowledge of core networking technologies (DHCP, DNS, Routing, NAT, wireless etc.).

Working knowledge of core Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, DFS/R, Exchange, SQL, Office365, IIS).

Working knowledge of Virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, XenServer).

Working knowledge of Hardware (A+ - RAID)

Aptitude for troubleshooting.

Enthusiasm for technology.

Ability to follow procedures and hit the ground running.

Must be able to work under pressure situations.

Basic knowledge of scripting languages (batch, powershell, sql).

Veeam Backup & Replication.

Basic working knowledge of Linux (Not essential)
