To manage the Procurement and Quantity Surveying departments to ensure business objectives are met whilst identifying and managing risk and creating a team that adds value within the construction process.

You will be required to travel to various sites within the North East region. You will also be required to visit the head office in Rubery 1-2 times a week. 1 day a week working from home will be considered.


Staff Management

  • Allocating resource to meet project demands

  • Identify development requirements

  • Listen to problems and advise where necessary

  • Develop processes and procedures to meet business objectives

  • Develop and review performance measures

Liaising with Internal & External Parties

  • Develop customer and supplier relationships

  • Negotiate accounts and terms and conditions

  • Advise interval parties commercially and contractually

  • Identify win-win situations and actions

Commercial & Contractual Awareness

  • Advise estimating re onerous terms & conditions

  • Advise project and management teams

  • Understand and utilise contract law and contracts

  • Understanding of technical and measurement functions

Risk Analysis

  • Advise project teams depending on scenario

  • Determine effect of specifics on business objectives

  • Advise management team

  • Analyse information and proffer solutions

Cash & Old Debt Collection

  • Manage inflow and outflow

  • Establish procedures

  • Deliver against approved budgets

  • Target areas of improvement

Financial Reporting

  • Management of contract accounts

  • Preparation of budget including overhead cost analysis at business level

  • To comply with all Health & Safety responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Health & Safety policy

  • Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time

Desirable Qualifications

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant commercial discipline

Demonstrate relevant experience of managing people

Membership of the RICS or CIPS preferred, but not essential
