A leading organisation is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our team at our Head Office in Thornton-Cleveleys.
As a Mechanical Piping Engineer, you will play a key role within our Mechanical Engineering team, working closely with colleagues across our multidisciplinary EPCM structure. This includes teams in EC&I, Civil & Structural, Process, and Construction Management.
The position is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to client sites for meetings, surveys, and reviews. You will contribute to a variety of UK-based projects across the onshore process industries, including chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, and food & beverage sectors.
Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Piping Engineer
- Develop and review mechanical and piping drawings to relevant industry standards.
- Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and share technical expertise across departments.
- Review client design proposals, specifications, and documentation to assess feasibility and ensure compliance.
- Specify system components and recommend modifications to enhance performance.
- Lead and participate in client design reviews, incorporating feedback into ongoing design development.
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Prepare scopes of work and associated technical documentation for procurement and installation.
- Assist the Mechanical Section Head with resource planning and workload forecasting.
- Support business development activities by contributing to cost estimates and project proposals.
Candidate Requirements: Mechanical Piping Engineer
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably from a UK university).
- Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following sectors: chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, or food & beverage.
- Chartered Engineer status (desirable, but not essential).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Autodesk software, ideally Plant 3D.
- Previous experience in a mechanical piping design engineering role.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
