Working Pattern: Full-time site-based – 11 shifts on, 3 shifts off
Shift: NIGHT SHIFT ROLE
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Technician (EC&I) to support the development, implementation, and execution of commissioning activities across our MENSA project. This role is essential in ensuring that commissioning, installation, and handover activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures and standards throughout the full project lifecycle.
Working under the direction of the Commissioning Manager (or delegate), the Commissioning Technician will execute commissioning tasks, report on status and safety issues, and ensure compliance with project quality requirements. The role may also involve supporting installation activities as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to the Commissioning Quality Management System and correct application of procedures, codes, and standards
- Provide functional inputs to commissioning deliverables
- Accurately report job status to the Commissioning Manager (or delegate)
- Manage commissioning documentation, including test documentation and commissioning reservations
- Follow Safe Systems of Work (SSoWs) and report safety issues promptly
- Execute commissioning tests to schedule and in line with technical requirements
- Complete commissioning records, test results, and control associated raw data
- Support compilation and review of Commissioning LTQR packages
- Contribute to site safety performance, including participation in ESH focus cards
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Recognised Level 3 qualification in a related engineering or construction discipline
- IOSH Working Safely, IOSH Managing Safely, or CCNSG Safety Passport
- Electrical commissioning experience
- Valid CSCS/ECS card (must be held prior to starting)
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience in the nuclear industry
- Previous nuclear site commissioning experience
- 18th Edition IEE Regulations (Electrical)
- Level 3 Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations
- Knowledge of loop testing
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
Security & Eligibility Requirements
- All candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance
- Candidates may start on BPSS, provided SC is in motion
- Applicants must have lived and worked in the UK for the last 5 years
