Our Commitment to Social Value

In 2024 we formed a partnership with Warrington Voluntary Action (WVA) to introduce the "Greater Reach Fund," an initiative designed to provide crucial support to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across Warrington.

We are proud to play an active role in our local community, supporting our people, local businesses, and the voluntary sector through a strong commitment to social value.

Our approach is embedded in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles and guided by our Sustainability Action Plan. We focus on three key areas:

1. Developing Our People
We invest in personal and professional growth through trainee and management development programmes, a clear Career Pathways Framework, and regular employee feedback via culture surveys and interviews.

2. Community Engagement
We partner with Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations to support local initiatives, offer funding, share expertise, promote diversity, and provide meaningful opportunities like work experience and volunteering.

3. Supporting Local Business & Economy
We prioritise local sourcing, prompt payment practices, fair procurement, and actively encourage sustainable practices among our suppliers.

Our first four chosen charities:

More than Men

Founded in 2023 by Ian Webb and Ian Savage, More than Men provides a safe space for men to openly discuss their mental health challenges. Based in Warrington, the group meets monthly for a breakfast club at Whitecross Community Centre, with members ranging from 20 to 62 years old.

In December, we had the privilege of meeting the group, funding their Christmas dinner, covering the cost of four breakfast clubs, and providing wellbeing walk hoodies, which they proudly wore when meeting the Mayor! With more wellbeing walks planned this year, we’re looking forward to continuing our support.

Creating Adventures
This Warrington-based charity offers free activities for adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities. In January, we had the chance to attend one of their dance classes, and we were blown away by their energy and positivity.

More recently, we visited to deliver head mics to support their choir and dance group for performances. Looking ahead, they’re hoping to raise funds for a minibus to make trips more accessible, something we’re excited to explore further. There may also be volunteering opportunities for staff to get involved in their performances, watch this space!

Treasure Your Wellbeing

Dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing across Warrington, this charity ensures support is accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances.

We provided £500 in funding to contribute to the running of their Women’s Wellbeing groups and we’re looking forward to seeing the continued impact of this partnership.

Warrington Youth Zone – Impact Partner

Warrington Youth Zone is a charity which provides a purpose-built state of the art facility for the town’s young people aged 7 – 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs.

Inside the Youth Zone, young people have a choice of over 20 fun and engaging activities every day including sports, arts, music, media, dance, drama, cooking, employability and enterprise workshops, and much more.

Young people pay 50p per session to access the Youth Zone, and can get a cooked meal for £1.

They provide services for young people 365 days a year and they open the doors to young people 364 days a year.

First Recruitment Group have decided to pledge our support to Warrington Youth Zone for three years by becoming an Impact Partner. We will be providing a financial donation and using our skills as a team to support their charity through volunteering and events.

After hearing about the fantastic work they do in the local community, coupled with their strong focus on building employability skills for the young people of this region, we knew we had to support their work.

Quote from Hayden, Philanthropy Manager at Warrington Youth Zone

“I am absolutely thrilled that First Recruitment Group has chosen to come on board as an Impact Partner for the next three years! Alongside providing very generous annual donations, the team at First Recruitment will be working with our team here at the Youth Zone offering their time, and engaging in our events. I am looking forward to working closely with the team over the next few years!”
