A new year is upon us, a year full of new opportunity. These opportunities can come in many forms, but for some of us, they could mean a change of workplace, career or industry.

Employees are not the only ones looking to make the most of the year ahead; employers are on the lookout for the best new talent in the New Year.

Take a look at our advice below to best seize the moment and make the most of new job opportunities in the New Year.

Tip 1: Update your CV

Remember that at this time of year, employers are looking for new hires just as employees are looking for new jobs. It is in your best interest to update your CV now and get the ball rolling. Focus on your key achievements within each previous job role.

Tip 2: Register with a recruitment agency

Let the jobs come to you by registering your details with a recruitment agency and increase your chances of finding the right role. Many companies today hire through agencies, who streamline the hiring process very effectively. Tip 3: Be proactive and approach companies directly

Many companies have prepared their budget for the New Year, and will likely have allocated funds to new hires; consider the companies you’d like to work for and don’t be afraid to approach them directly. Many companies look to set their teams up for the year ahead in January.
