My client are a market leaders in industries such as Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and are now expanding into renewables.They are looking for a Technical Director to join their Air Quality division, Maintaining and enhancing high level of quality and competency of projects and of practice members. To provide technical leadership in the market place.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Support the Consulting Group Manager to define the Consulting Group service offers (products)
- Support the Consulting Group Manager in the development of an annual Consulting Group Plan and sector plans
- Support the Consulting Group Manager in defining the drivers underpinning the service offering – i.e. which regulations and develop a mapping of known changes which will force services to adapt. Ensure understanding is ahead of the changes
- Provide tender responses to client requests for work and input into large bids through the Bid Support Team
- Adapt weekly resource plans to match the order book demands
- Be exemplar in building relationships with clients
- Ensure resource is available to support initiatives and resolve conflicts
- With the Consulting Group Manager, track and report on active proposals and drive follow up actions to ensure the Practice maintains a rolling forward order book and forecast to provide visibility of work in hands vs. budget
- Adhere to commercial practices and support the implementation of agreed common systems & initiatives within the Practice, e.g. UK Management System, H&S responsibilities
- Ensure the technical knowledge in the business is identified and harnessed to maximum effect
- Ensure that the Consulting Group has the technical tools and facilities are to maintain high standards Ensure that methodologies for services are codified
- Monitor individual utilisation versus targets and actively manage optimal utilisation
- Monitor and report on KPIs specified by the Consulting Group Manager
- Ensure that the Consulting Group has sufficient technical competence and thought leadership
- Ensure full personal implementation of the competency framework
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Qualifications:
Essential
- Technical consulting background
- Technical leadership and coaching skills
- Proven ability in commercial practices and project management
- Proven ability in delivery of sales for large-scale (>£100K) projects
- Degree qualified in relevant subject
- Member of a related professional institution and Chartered status
