Analyst/Programmer - Job Description  

Summary:   

We’re looking for an Analyst programmer / Software Developer to provide programming support for special projects. Projects will be new developments and existing infrastructure including the Intranet site, Client Portal Internet site, Oracle Servers, internally developed applications and externally developed systems.  This role covers both Windows Client/Server applications and website development.

We’d like to speak with candidates who are skilled in:

  • C#

  •  .NET (4.5)

  • ASP.NET

  • MVC

  • JavaScript

  • jQuery

  • HTML

  •  CSS

  • Any database such as Oracle or other SQL

Additional Desirable skills include:

  • IIS

  • web security

  • WPF

  • Team Foundation Server

  • Code-First Entity Framework

  • LINQ

  • PHP

  • WordPress

Principal Activities

As part of our compact IT team, you will carry out work on Special Operations Projects, any new developments and existing infrastructure including:

Intranet:

  • Design and development of new multi-page subsites and data-driven interactive pages;

  • Intranet reports drawing data from Oracle database (e.g. SQL SELECT statements, or calling Oracle procedures);

  • General support, e.g. amendments to existing C#, .Net, PHP, ASP.NET MVC or ASP pages.

Internet:

  • Client developments drawing on external data to provide usable Business Intelligence

  • marketing websites;

Internally developed applications:

  • Microsoft Office Add-Ins, e.g. for digital filing of documents;

  • Client on-boarding data capture application;

  • Reconciliations database;

General

This is a fantastic position if you want to:

  • Be involved in the full project lifecycle from requirements analysis, solution design, front end development, testing and implementation.

  • Manage your own projects, keeping stakeholders informed

  • Be a mentor to other more junior members of the Development Team.

  • To be part of a small team liaising with senior Development Team members Client Services and Finance Department, to identify areas where new systems could be established to improve the use of data within the company

  • Implement solutions, using available IT resources where appropriate, to leverage these strategies and where appropriate automate them and make them accessible to a wider audience.
