Five Charities Boosted By £1600 Christmas Donations

01 Dec 2015

This Christmas we collaborated with four of our top clients, donating £1600 to five very worthy charities.

Around Christmas time many businesses send out the obligatory gifts of wine or chocolates to their clients, as a gesture of thanks for the work done together during the year. We see no problem with this, but a few years ago we decided to do things a little differently, and have been doing it this way ever since.

A festive mission for some of our biggest clients

After speaking with four of our largest clients, we gave each of them £400, along with a festive mission to donate the money to a charity of their choice.

Our CEO, John Urpi, said:

“At Christmas time it can be too easy to forget those in need, when you are at home enjoying time with your family. I was determined to make sure we contributed to some of the great charities out there, who work tirelessly to help others at Christmas. We have close relationships with our clients and so I thought it would be a good idea to work together on this, by giving our clients the chance to choose the charity we donate to. We’ve had some really positive feedback, and from it have been made aware of charities that we would not have heard about otherwise.”

MWH Global and The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

MWH Global donated to Ward 84, at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, specifically going towards research into brain tumours in children. The hospital was chosen by one of MWH’s Mechanical Designers, whose 5 year old son Ethan Caunce (pictured below) was admitted to the hospital on New Year’s Eve 2013 with a brain tumour.

Cavendish, Stick n Step and The Christie

Our client, Cavendish, split their donation of £400 between the two great charities, The Christie in Greater Manchester, and North West charity, Stick n Step.

Stick n Step is a charity set up in 2002 by a group of parents who have children with Cerebral Palsy to offer support services & conductive education to children & their families with Cerebal Palsy, whilst well-known charity The Christie specialise in cancer treatment, research and education.
