New office opens for business

01 Dec 2015

First Recruitment Group have experienced huge growth since they began trading in 1997 with a recent turnover exceeding £100m. The company, which was formally based at Birchwood Park, recently purchased a unit on Birchwood Boulevard and invested greatly into transforming it into the perfect office for the company.

Founders of the business, Andy Cartledge and Steve Farthing, commented,

“When we bought the 20,000 sq ft building it was in state of disrepair. We saw this as an opportunity to create an office perfectly tailored to our needs as a company.”
“Recruitment is a fast paced industry and our staff often work long hours so we wanted them to be able to relax and enjoy their breaks, by exercising in the gym, socialising in the café or enjoying a game of pool, table tennis or table football in the break out area with their colleagues.”

So much work and innovation has gone into the development that the local consultancy managing the project, Jones Melling Ltd, plans to enter it for an RICS Property Award.

The office includes an onsite café which will be run by Le Brunch, a Culcheth based bistro, who have been delivering lunches to local businesses in the Birchwood area for some time now. They will prepare breakfasts, lunches and snacks for the staff throughout the day.

John Urpi, CEO of First Recruitment, said,

“Steve and Andy’s vision for the new office was to make it into a top class and fun working environment for our staff and also for the many creative and talented people that we need to attract to enable us to realise our goal, to be the best specialist recruitment company in the UK.”

The new First Recruitment headquarters is to be named Parry House as a tribute to Wendy and Colin Parry who sadly lost their son in the Warrington bombing. Wendy and Colin run the Peace Centre in Great Sankey where they work with vulnerable children, young people and adults affected by violence and cruelty in all its forms.

The Peace Centre is a valuable place for the community and First Recruitment Group is excited to be working with Colin and Wendy by raising money and supporting the charity with an action plan for support in the future.
