The Olympics Take Over First Recruitment

17 Aug 2016

Inspired by team GB’s success in the 2016 Rio Olympics, a team from First Recruitment Group will take to the gym to complete their own sporting challenge for charity this Friday 19th August.

12 members of staff will dust off their trainers and complete a 3 hour relay from 9am – 12pm on Friday 19th August with the choice of rowing, cycling or running in our in-house gym. When they have finished their turn they will tag the next person to begin to ensure the relay continues seamlessly throughout the morning.

Staff have been donating internally all week to support the team in completing their challenge, to raise funds for their 2 chosen charities, the Foundation for Peace and the Kamla Foundation who do fantastic work locally, nationally and internationally. The Foundation for Peace is based in Warrington and supports those affected by terrorism and conflict to build stronger communities. The Kamla Foundation provides invaluable support for those, especially women, who suffer extreme poverty and hardship in India.

John Urpi CEO commented, “We are a health conscious business that supports a healthy lifestyle by providing staff with free fruit, an in-house gym and cash back on health expenses. This sporting challenge reflects our healthy ethos, creating some fun for staff who are normally sat behind a desk most of the day. By raising funds for our chosen charities too, it has even inspired me to take part on the treadmill myself.”

Keep your eyes peeled to social media for photos of the event later this week and if everyone managed to complete the relay.
