The Kamla Foundation is one of the charities that First Recruitment Group choose to support.
The Kamla Foundation works in India with people who are on the margins of society; the poor, low-caste, tribal people, especially women - to help them build and sustain their individual, family and community livelihoods.
Last week they came in to the office and delivered a presentation on the work they have been doing, how we have helped so far and how we can get involved going forward.
First Recruitment recently funded a much needed vehicle for the Medlife Foundation.
Dr Sheth from the Medlife Foundation said;
“We have many urgent priorities as a small medical charity and the purchase of a vehicle was at the top of the list. We are indebted to First Recruitment Group and Kamla Foundation for the kind donation of the vehicle. The vehicle will give us greater reach and access, ensuring faster treatment and after care for those suffering with cleft lip/palate deformities.”
First Recruitment also donated money for a scooter for a Community Worker who was travelling huge distances daily to work with women’s groups. She supports some of the most stigmatised communities across a vast rural area in South India and now, with the scooter, she can travel safely and quickly and dedicate more of her time to helping people.
Over the next few months First Recruitment group will be holding various events to raise money for the Kamla Foundation to help them continue their important work.
