We caught up with our technology team to discover how they help clients with their technology recruitment needs.

How do you ensure excellent service for your clients?

We think the main thing about ensuring a clients experience with us is first class is to show interest. Get to know them and their needs and keep in regular contact. Sometimes it can be difficult to maintain the constant contact, especially when you have many other clients to satisfy and manage, but it’s essential to delivering the best results.

What are the challenges of hiring for the IT sector?

We've learned that it is particularly challenging due to the fact that the IT sector is forever changing and evolving, especially in recent years. There is always a new kind of technology coming into play, which is also what is exciting about this industry and what makes it one of the most interesting sectors to work in (in our opinion). It’s crucial our Account Managers are aware of the constant progression and work with our clients to come up with suitable solutions to attract the best talent.

How do you help clients tackle these challenges?

We schedule in weekly calls to our clients just to catch up on how things are progressing, whether they need more manpower, or assistance with any of our other services, i.e. payroll etc. We also have big ambitions for where we want First’s Technology division to be in the next 5 years and we're determined to grow the team and boost our presence in the industry.

How do you ensure you have the right industry knowledge?

Industry knowledge is key so we read a lot, listen a lot and talk a lot.

We personally enjoy being active on social media and think it’s a useful tool to keep up to date with all the latest happenings, and engage with others in the sector to discuss future developments and other areas of the Technology and IT industry.

One way that helps us stand out from the crowd is to listen, not just to our clients, but also to other IT professionals in the industry and generally what changes are happening within the industry. What’s the topic of conversation? How can we help or get involved? What’s the latest tech?

We then work with the team to filter key parts of this knowledge into the I.T news section of our website, sharing monthly I.T snapshots that cover the latest goings on in I.T infrastructure, cyber-security and cloud technologies.
