Our Client has a requirement for a ROV Tooling/Intervention Engineer, who will be required to work on a 12 month contract basis in Aberdeen.


Job Accountabilities:

  • Review Project installation procedures, in order to ensure practicality from an ROV operations point of view.
  • Determine ROV tooling requirements to support all ROV operations.
  • Specify specialist ROV tooling that may be required to support client projects.
  • Design specialist tooling that may be required to support client projects.
  • Advise Projects on all aspects of ROV interfaces.
  • Provide assistance to Commercial Departments during bid preparation from an ROV interfaces point of view.
  • Assume responsibility for the generation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals for in-house new build tooling.
  • To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
  • To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with specific procedures.
  • To ensure his/ her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.


You should have the following experience:


Education and Qualifications

  • University or College Engineering education to BSc/BEng or higher. If not degree qualified in Engineering, eg: HND or HNC qualified, to have suitable experience, including analytical ability, that is equivalent thereto

Leadership Competencies

  • Must have good communication ability at all levels and be capable and confident of supervising other disciplines, eg: drawing office and workshop personnel


Technical Competencies and Skills

  • Have a good knowledge of offshore operations, in particular subsea construction and remote intervention.
  • Have a good knowledge of Industry Standards, including ISO 13628-8 Design and operation of subsea production systems - Part 8: Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) interfaces on subsea production systems.
  • Have a good knowledge of theory, design and operation of tooling systems.
  • Have a good knowledge of system-level engineering.
  • Must be experienced in the writing and preparation of technical documentation for remotely operated subsea equipment, ie: Equipment Operating Procedures and Operations & Maintenance Manuals.
  • It is expected that the ROV Operations Support Engineer shall be capable of working without supervision; be capable of coordinating varied resources; shall contribute actively; and shall have good problem-solving skills.
  • Conversant in use of Microsoft Office programs.
  • A basic ability in the use of AutoCAD would be useful.
  • A basic ability in the use of MathCAD would be useful.


QHSE Competencies

  • Hold current offshore (Oil & Gas UK & Norwegian) medical certification and (OPITO & OLF) survival certification
