Mission: As a Planning Engineer, your mission is to play a pivotal role in establishing and managing an effective planning and progress control system. Your expertise in Offshore Installation projects will be crucial in supporting the Project Manager's decision-making process and ensuring project completion in alignment with internal baselines and contractual dates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offshore Installation Expertise:
- Demonstrate substantial experience in Offshore Installation projects.
- Apply expertise to develop project schedules based on commercial needs.
- Verify feasibility and criticality in the context of offshore operations.
- System Implementation:
- Implement the Planning and Progress Control System, adhering to contract requirements.
- Interface and coordinate with other company functions and leaders with a focus on offshore complexities.
- Prepare baseline documents and communicate planning requirements with a keen understanding of Offshore Installation nuances.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Issue relevant reports with a focus on Offshore Installation progress and challenges.
- Prepare Planning & Scheduling Procedure, Progress Measurement Procedure, and Risk Management Plan tailored to the intricacies of offshore projects.
- Risk Management:
- Lead the startup of risk management activities with a specific emphasis on Offshore Installation risks.
- Perform a thorough schedule risk analysis for highly critical offshore projects.
During Project Execution Phase:
- Offshore Project Execution:
- Ensure the effectiveness of the Planning and Progress Control System, specifically monitoring progress in Offshore Installation phases.
- Update all project schedules, considering actual data and evaluating forecast dates for offshore operations.
- Look-Ahead Schedule:
- Create and maintain the 90 days look-ahead schedule, focusing on the unique challenges of Offshore Installation.
- Identify adverse trends and provide timely alerts to the Project Manager for corrective actions.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Issue weekly and monthly project reports, emphasizing Offshore Installation progress and mitigations.
- Participate in coordination meetings with a spotlight on offshore intricacies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Offshore Installation projects is mandatory.
- Strong background in planning and project control.
