My Client has a requirement for a Principal EC&I Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington.

Role Purpose: The Principal EC&I Engineer provides leadership in delivering engineering and technical activities through process application, domain knowledge, and experience. They work independently or in a small team, addressing complex technical issues, compiling reports, and adhering to specifications. The role involves coaching, mentoring, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Job Role Responsibilities: Principal EC&I Engineer

  • Manage multi-discipline teams for timely and efficient engineering work delivery.
  • Supervise engineers/technical specialists.
  • Promote cooperation across Engineering and other functional teams.
  • Manage customer relationships, resolve technical and delivery issues, and keep customers informed of progress.
  • Manage technical aspects of engineering output to deliver solutions in line with agreed technical scope.
  • Produce, review, verify, and approve technical outputs, including calculations, reports, specifications, and method statements.
  • Ensure adequate review, verification, and approval for deliverables.
  • Identify and apply procedures, codes, and standards to engineering and technical activities.
  • Uphold the highest health and safety standards in the immediate area of responsibility.
  • Manage resource demands and develop capability skills.
  • Plan and execute project and technical audits and reviews.
  • Promote a culture of engineering best practice and contribute to cultural development and change.
  • Contribute to learning from experience (LfE) during and post-project.
  • Support business development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, ethics, and behavior standards.
  • Support the business winning process through input into or review of tender requirements.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating principles, promoting health, safety, wellbeing, respect, and inclusion.
  • Own the performance and development of team members.
  • Responsible for effective planning and organization of resources.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills: Principal EC&I Engineer

Essential:

    • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
    • Chartered Engineer status.
    • Demonstrable experience in managing teams for analysis activities on various project types.
    • Demonstrable experience across tasks of different complexities.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.

Desirable:

    • Membership in a relevant institute or demonstrable engineering experience for registration with the Engineering Council.
    • Experience in managing engineering scope from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).
    • Breadth and depth of experience in a range of commercial or defense projects.

Minimum Qualifications to be Verified: Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline with significant demonstrable experience.
