Senior Material Engineer - Floating Wind Project
Kingston upon Thames
Ltd Company contract (outside IR35)


We are looking to hire a Senior Material Engineer to join the team for an exciting Floating Wind project. The ideal candidate will be a degree-qualified engineer with expertise in materials design and a strong background in supporting project teams across various stages, from Bids and FEED to Projects. This role requires a proactive individual capable of defining effective and competitive solutions aligned with client and international specifications.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with project teams in Bids, FEED, and Projects stages to define optimal design materials and manufacturing processes according to client and international specifications.
• Provide technical support to construction/installation teams, offering expertise on all aspects of metallic materials.
• Support procurement activities by conducting technical bid evaluations (TBE), reviewing vendors' documents, and facilitating communication with clients.
• Possess knowledge of welding and corrosion processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively within project contexts.
• Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software and codes and standards pertinent to the offshore industry, with a particular focus on the renewable energy sector.
• Utilize strong communication and problem-solving skills to address challenges and drive project success.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, preferably with a focus on materials science or a related field.
• Proven experience in materials design and engineering, particularly within the offshore industry.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards applicable to offshore and renewable energy projects.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
• Prior experience with welding and corrosion processes is desirable.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
