Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new role? A water sector leading solutions provider is currently seeking a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team, supporting key infrastructure projects within the Severn Trent Region. The Quantity Surveyor role offers a hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the financial management of major works.
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, the successful Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of several key accounts on a large-scale project, or assume full commercial responsibility for smaller, standalone schemes.
Key Responsibilities: Quantity Surveyor
- Preparation of applications for payment, valuations, and cost/value reconciliations.
- Financial forecasting and cost control, contributing to monthly commercial reports (value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow).
- Effective supply chain management, ensuring compliance and performance standards.
- Supporting risk and value management processes to drive optimal commercial outcomes.
- Providing guidance and mentoring to project teams through regular performance reviews.
- Managing contracts in line with agreed commercial procedures and relevant contractual frameworks.
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages from enquiry through to final account.
- Ensuring timely preparation and submission of all required contractual notifications and documentation.
- Proactively identifying and communicating any safety-related risks to site management.
- Maintaining consistent liaison with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Offering timely contractual and commercial advice to project teams.
Candidate Requirements: Quantity Surveyor
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- MRICS-accredited or actively working towards APC.
- Demonstrable experience working for a main contractor on infrastructure or construction projects.
- Experience within the Water sector would be desirable.
- Working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts is heavily advantageous.
