Environmental Advisor - 12 Month contract - Based in Norwich
Our Client has a requirement for an Environmental Advisor, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Norwich.
Location: Norwich, UK
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (Office-based with potentially 1 day from home)
Occasional Travel: Offshore assets and onshore terminals
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Advisor to join our QSSHE team in Norwich. You will provide proactive and competent environmental support across both onshore and offshore producing assets. The role ensures that all environmental obligations are understood, and that risks, controls, and mitigations are effectively implemented—supporting operations, projects, drilling, and decommissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as Environmental Advisor for three operational platforms, NUI’s, and subsea tiebacks

Manage all OPPC, ETS, and Chemical Permits for offshore activities

Provide technical input into Terminal Environmental Operations

Develop and maintain an Environmental Plan aligned with ISO14001 initiatives and milestones

Support the maintenance of ISO14001:2015

Conduct scheduled audits and inspections
-
Manage regulatory relationships with OPRED/BEIS
-
Ensure timely internal and external reporting (e.g., EEMS, OSPAR, OPPC, SECR)

Advise on environmental policies and legislation compliance

Monitor and assess environmental legislative changes and business impacts

Perform site visits and audits
-
Maintain OPEP documentation
-
Serve as a member of the IMT

Oversee environmental aspects of the HSE budget
Key Requirements:
Experience & Qualifications:
-
Extensive experience in the offshore upstream oil & gas sector, with proven Advisor-level competency
-
Broad expertise in offshore production, subsea, drilling, and well intervention operations

In-depth understanding of the UK environmental regulatory framework

Strong knowledge of emissions management and emissions trading schemes for offshore

Degree in Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field

Trained ISO14001 auditor

Familiarity with SCR2015, PORTAL, EEMS, and ETSWAP (or UK equivalents)

Knowledge of SECR

Valid BOSIET/FOET
Preferred:

Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore oil & gas or other high-hazard industries

Full Member of IEMA (or similar professional body)

NORM Management / RPS certification
