Our client has a requirement for a Senior Project Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Totton

Role Purpose of the Project Manager:

To lead and manage the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and successful delivery of assigned projects. The role ensures that all projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in line with company strategy and standards, whilst maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.

Job Role Responsibilities of the Project Manager:

  • Promote high safety standards and quality delivery across direct and subcontracted workforces.
  • Ensure the Business Management System (BMS) is implemented from tender handover through to project completion.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure positive engagement with joint venture partners and suppliers.
  • Plan and manage the project lifecycle, including approval and execution of the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Ensure construction plans and method statements are completed and approved prior to commencement.
  • Ensure all records referred to in the PEP are complete at contract close-out.
  • Report site non-conformities and estimate associated costs.
  • Manage all commercial aspects proactively, providing accurate forecasts and estimates.
  • Understand and implement Quality, Safety and Environmental policies and targets.
  • Maintain awareness of customer requirements and aim to enhance satisfaction.
  • Keep a practical understanding of technical disciplines relevant to water and wastewater design and build projects.
  • Apply project management best practices from inception through to end-user handover.
  • Support continuous professional development through industry networking and events.
  • Represent the business professionally in all dealings and maintain positive internal and external relationships.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally in the water sector.
  • Degree or equivalent in a construction, commercial, or engineering-related discipline.
  • Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Track record of delivering projects on time, to budget and quality expectations.
  • Experience with NEC and/or IChemE contracts.
  • Experience with project governance and presenting at reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction Health & Safety requirements.
  • Risk and opportunity management experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Chartered status with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
  • NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
  • Advanced understanding of CDM and site H&S.
