Our client has a requirement for a Project Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in the West Midlands.
Role Purpose of the Project Engineer:
To support Project Managers and MEICA Managers in the development of specifications for procurement, review and comment on design documentation for construction and commissioning, and assist with the integration of supplier documentation into the overall project design.
Job Role Responsibilities of the Project Engineer:
- Coordinate MEICA design activities from outline design through to start of site delivery.
- Report on MEICA design progress to Project Managers, MEICA & Commissioning Managers, and Design Managers.
- Provide technical and quality support to project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the review and selection of subcontract tenders and supplier scopes of work.
- Coordinate and expedite sub-contractors during off-site manufacture.
- Review and monitor design deliverables such as schedules, specifications, and drawings.
- Manage procurement deliverables, including free-issue plant and equipment.
- Liaise with design and procurement teams on technical matters and change control.
- Ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated during the design stage.
- Assist in reviewing documents including FDS, P&IDs, control philosophies, and telemetry requirements.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- HNC or Apprenticeship in a MEICA-related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the water sector or similarly regulated process environments (e.g., energy).
- Strong understanding of engineering design and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and comment on technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant industry laws and regulations.
