Role
Shape and drive integrated programme schedules in a high-security, high-impact environment.
Our Client has a requirement for a Planning Coordinator, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Scotland.
Role Purpose:
- Responsible for developing, maintaining and communicating integrated programme schedules
- Work closely with programme planners to ensure key milestones, critical dates and interdependencies are accurately captured and delivered
- Act as the planning interface across a complex environment
- Engage with a broad range of stakeholders to challenge assumptions and support informed decision-making
- Identify risks and opportunities and support mitigation planning
- Produce clear schedules and reports to support programme delivery
- Contribute to integrated planning reviews, baseline change control, progress reporting and stakeholder coordination
- Operate effectively within a highly regulated, security-sensitive environment
- Undertake travel to UK sites for meetings and workshops as required
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and communicate integrated programme schedules
- Work collaboratively with programme planners to deliver agreed milestones and dependencies
- Challenge discrepancies, risks and issues within schedules and planning data
- Support the identification of risks, opportunities and mitigation actions
- Contribute to integrated planning and schedule reviews
- Support baseline change control activities
- Produce progress reports and planning updates for stakeholders
- Engage and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Analyse detailed planning data to support decision-making
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Schedule/Planning role
- Primavera P6 Practitioner
- Available to work on Base full time at a minimum of 2 days maximum of 4 days per week depending on business need as agreed by Line Manager
- Sole UK National Citizen
- SC clearance held or to be gained in advance of commencing in the role on site
- Sound knowledge of schedule/planning process and management including baseline change process
- Ability to objectively analyse data and information to form a big-picture view of planning
- Ability to process detailed information to identify trends
- Organisational and leadership skills
- Hands-on experience of managing delivery and stakeholder management
- Good Microsoft Office / IT skills
Desirable:
- In-depth knowledge of their industry
- Ability to communicate effectively at an executive level
- Ability to be agile and react to changes in the business environment
- Experience of managing schedule/planning activities in a complex live operational environment
- Experience of working in a complex collaborative environment
- Qualifications & Training (Desirable):
- Experience of working as a scheduler/planner ideally in a government project delivery environment
- APM Project Management Qualification
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
- Management of Risk (M_o_R)
- Membership of a relevant professional body
