Site HSE Manager

Drive Safety Excellence on a Major Industrial Construction Project in Germany!

Our Client has a requirement for a HSE Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Germany.

Role Purpose:

• Support the safe execution of all project activities in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, codes and industry best practice.
• Ensure the project is delivered safely while achieving all HSE targets and performance standards.
• Provide leadership and guidance on all Health, Safety and Environmental matters throughout the construction phase.
• Act as the appointed SiGeKo (Safety and Health Coordinator) for the project.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Ensure HSE controls across the project are consistently implemented and adhered to by all personnel, contractors and vendors.
• Support the delivery and continual improvement of project HSE targets and performance standards.
• Provide surveillance, monitoring and professional advice on construction activities and contractor performance.
• Lead and promote the implementation of the Zero Harm 24/7 safety programme.
• Review contractor HSE competencies, procedures, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Support the preparation and review of safety documentation including JSA, STA and TSTI documentation.
• Deliver site safety guidance, coaching and training to project personnel.
• Coordinate HSE reporting activities and maintain project HSE management systems.
• Conduct inspections, audits, incident investigations and performance reviews.
• Support emergency response activities and participate in safety meetings and site walkdowns.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and daily activity logs.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• German Occupational Health and Safety qualification.
• SiGeKo qualification is essential.
• Proven HSE experience within petrochemical, oil and gas, energy or heavy industrial construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of industry HSE regulations, standards and best practices.
• Experience reviewing contractor HSE performance and identifying deficiencies.
• Recognised audit training.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent German and English language skills, both written and verbal.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Relevant academic qualifications preferred; equivalent industry experience and training will also be considered.
