Key Responsibility Areas

  • Provide responsive technical engineering advice and service to Operational and Functional Teams in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Provide insightful and key Asset performance improvement inputs.

  • Develop and maintain networks and relationships with key peers and colleagues.

  • Keep abreast with up to date knowledge to any new initiatives and developments within specific engineering disciplines.

  • Capture any opportunities to new or improved technologies in order to optimise the Operations, increase the reliability and optimise the costs during the full Asset life.

  • Supervise and manage contractors, as necessary, to achieve the required work output.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the Engineering activities to ensure that the production and maintenance systems are integrated and operated effectively in accordance with the Business Plan.

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the required technical standards, processes and procedures and operating effectively and in compliance with legislation, the Facility Safety Case and Company's standards.

  • Ensure assigned discipline Engineering activities are focussed to delivering safe production performance with maximum reliability.

  • Ensure costs are controlled and managed in order to achieve business goals by monitoring contracts performance within the group and supporting the building of the OPEX budgets (ABC methodology).

  • Provide technical leadership to technician groups as well as foster an effective and efficient team working environment to ensure successful completion of technical activities

  • Participate in other project activities (i.e. SIL, HAZOP Review process)

  • Develop and implement minor rotating & mechanical equipment modifications/upgrade for off/onshore sites in accordance with MOC procedure

  • Capture any opportunities to new or improved technologies suitable for the area of application

  • Foster effective teamwork in order to motivate staff and help establish a work environment / climate, work systems and practices that maximise opportunities for staff to perform well, achieve job satisfaction and contribute effectively to the business. This includes ensuring all recruitment, training and performance assessments are in place and being carried out effectively.

  • Develop, maintain and manage networks and relationships with key personnel including those from the Operations Team and regulatory bodies

  • Provide technical input into monthly reliability and maintenance reporting benchmarking equipment and system performance

  • Management of assigned contracts and feedback follow up in term of expenditures and works execution.

  • Participate in defining group priorities in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager.

  • Undertake activities as System Custodian if so designated.

 HSE and Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with HSE Management standards and the HSE Management System.

  • Ensure full compliance with all HSE regulatory and legislative requirements.

  • Promote a risk-based approach to operations, supporting technical specialists and HSE staff to manage risk.

  • Ensure that the requirements of the Safety Environmental Critical elements are managed to maintain asset integrity.

  • Ensure adherence to the Company's Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures and standards

  • To participate in Emergency Response activities, as required 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline

  • Chartered Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers

  • Familiar and previous experience with project management principles and fundamentals

  • Available to undertake HUET and BOSIET Certification

  • Understanding of Risk Assessment

  • Awareness on Safety Case and Bowties approach on Major Accident Hazards   

Required Competencies

  • Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry or other similar Heavy Industrial environment, preferably including a substantial period of direct engineering support to operational Offshore and Onshore facilities.

  • Strong technical Knowledge and proven design, construction, commissioning and operational experience in the rotating equipment

  • Strong Knowledge of British and European Technical Standards.

  • Knowledge of Applicable Regulations.

  • Technical confidence and independence to progress tasks with minimal supervisor

 Working Conditions

Office based, with requirement to visit offshore & onshore sites regularly
