Movember 2012

01 Dec 2015

This November First Recruitment Group will be raising money for Movember.

Movember is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer initiatives. The goal of Movember is to "change the face of men's health."

By encouraging men ("Mo Bros") to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides getting an annual check-up, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of any family history of cancer, and to adopt a more healthy lifestyle.

First Recruitment will be holding events throughout November, starting with the ‘shave down’ on the 31st October where we will ensure the guys are clean shaven before they start to grow their mo’s.

The 1st of November marks the birthday of Ryan Heywood. Ryan grew up with First Recruitments CEO’s son, going to school together and playing for the same football team. Ryan would have been 30 on the 1st November this year, but sadly, at the age of only 21 lost his battle with testicular cancer. We will be holding events throughout November to remember Ryan and to raise money.

We will also be inviting people to judge the best First Recruitment mo. The guy with the best mo will be presented with his award at the end of the month.
