    Our client has a requirement for a DSEAR Expert with an experienced background in the Water Industry who will be required to work on a 6-12 Months Temporary Contract basis in South East London.

    Essential Skills / Requirements:
    • Familiar with the requirements of DSEAR/ATEX and how compliance is demonstrated and controlled.
    • Thorough understanding of the BS EN 60079 suite of standards.
    • Able to apply hazardous area classification from first principles in line with BS EN 60079-10 for both gasses and dusts.
    • Fully familiar with the methods used to determine requirements for hazardous areas in the UK water industry.
    • Familiar with protection concepts for electrical and mechanical equipment, equipment marking requirements and certification.
    • Knowledge of the application of the Energy Institute specification EI15, NFPA 820 and IGEM/SR/25 would be an advantage.
    • At least 5 years’ experience of the application of hazardous areas within the water industry and other process industries.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Ideally degree qualified (would consider people without a degree who are considerably experienced in this field).
    • Chartered engineer with a relevant engineering institution.
    • Formal training in hazardous area assessment and management is required (recognised qualifications would be an advantage).

    Job Description:
    The individual will be responsible for the coordination, delivery and quality of drawing work undertaken at the office.

    Job Role:
    You will report directly to the Engineering Lead and the responsibilities will include:
    • Ensure designs are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations.
    • Manages CAD workload.
    • Acts as Digital Delivery Champion for the client.
    • Allocation and co-ordination of drawing work undertaken by off-shore resources.
    • Ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
    • Coordinating design outputs across all technical disciplines.
    • Raising and resolution of technical queries.
    • Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.

    Required Skills / Experience:
    • Several years' experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
    • 2D drafting skills, qualifications and experience.
    • 3D modelling skills, qualifications and experience.
    • Autodesk Revit and other 3D applications skills, qualifications and experience.
    • Bentley Project wise experience.
    • Broad experience in the use and application of common engineering software and IT.
    • Working and theoretical understanding of 3D modelling standards and QA processes.
    • Self-starter, curious and inquiring nature with key interest in the detail of how civil structures come together.
    • Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.

    Critical Requirement:
    • Must have Water industry experience.

    Job Description:
    In order to ensure the above the individual must co-ordinate the design and produce civil design documents and drawings taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract. The individual will provide superior quality engineering design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts.

    Job Role:
    You will report directly to the Civil Discipline Lead and the responsibilities will include:
    • Produce Civil design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
    • Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
    • Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
    • Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
    • Monitor and review the procedures and processes.
    • Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
    • Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contracts are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
    • To work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company.
    • Ensure designs take account of environmental issues.
    • Ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.

    Required Skills / Experience:
    • Understand the principles of water and sewage treatment.
    • Membership of a professional institution chartered or nearing Chartership.

    Desirable:
    • Civil Engineering degree.
    • A minimum of a Civil Engineering HND.
    • Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
    • Must have Water experience.
