Job Description

 

Main purpose of job:

 

Development and delivery of working solutions to meet the business’s needs. Following our client’s standards, guidelines, policies and procedures. Working with the latest technology and tools as defined by our client.

 

Designing and developing solutions will be the main role as well as supporting the business. Duties will include documentation, requirement gathering, project management, design, development (code & no-code options) and support.

 

Be a team player and become an integral part of Collaborative Applications team. Listen and engage with the other CA Team members who all support each other and work together in a great atmosphere. Attending meetings and travelling to site when required.

 

Position in organisation and key relationship:

 

Reporting to the Collaborative Applications Manager within the team.

 

Peers will be the CA Team (UK, FR, NA & Rest of World) colleagues, as well all departments within the UK and group teams.

 

Engaging with the Stakeholders and working with a wide range of employees throughout the business covering all levels of seniority.

 

Scope of job:

 

The job will include a mixture of development projects. SDLC (ASP.Net, C#, NodeJS, JavaScript, etc.) also using no-code platforms (e.g. Power Apps) to deliver solutions. PowerShell for automation scripts (Rapid7) and creation of workflows & Power Automate (MS Flows) for business needs and further O365 integration.

 

Developing solutions for the business ensuring that the project deadlines are met in a timely fashion. When required, learning new technology and supporting the business. (Training will be provided)

 

Producing documentation (designs, specs, test plans & handovers guides) upon delivery to both Service Desk and Stakeholders. To also provide training, such as ‘Lunch & Learn’ sessions to the business covering various topics.

 

Dimensions and limits of authority:

 

Working in the Collaborative Applications department you will take input from the Collaborative Applications Manager, Steering Group, Project Manager as well as senior colleagues when directed.

 

Meeting with stakeholders from various functions from within the business to capture requirements.

 

Provide an excellent level of customer service. Travel and work at client sites across the UK (*if required.)

 

Qualifications:

 

  • GCSE passes in English, Mathematics and a science.

  • Computer related degree or equivalent.

    Experience:

    Knowledge and understanding of the development life cycle and the various methodologies.

    Demonstrate ability of development in a chosen language.

    Developer 3+ years min. experience of development (demonstrable).

    Technical:

  • Programming languages: .NET (asp.net, C#, VB, etc), JavaScript, NodeJS, HTML5, CSS3

  • Website development

  • Databases (SQL, noSQL - Big Data), business intelligence - Power BI

  • SharePoint Online & On-premise, Power Apps, Power Automate (flow)

  • SharePoint Framework, MS Teams, O365

  • PowerShell scripts

    Essential skills: Asp.Net, C#, JavaScript & frameworks i.e. jQuery, HTML, CSS, SQL, O365 suite

    Desirable: Business Intelligence (Power BI), Big Data, SharePoint

  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload, coupled with demonstrated experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines in a fast paced and changing environment.
