Join an industry-leading organization at the forefront of nuclear energy technology. My client are committed to supporting the UK’s goal of Net Zero. They are seeking a talented and dedicated Quality & Nuclear Safety Director and play a crucial role in shaping the future of clean energy.

My client are building a new capability to develop and lead on all aspects critical to a Nuclear Safety driven delivery organisation, establishing complimentary systems, processes and procedures with which we will demonstrate and execute compliant safe delivery of Nuclear context works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, setting, and maintaining the highest level of Quality and Nuclear Safety standards for all team members.
  • Being the key accountable person for Quality and Nuclear Safety within the New Nuclear senior team.
  • Be responsible for the leadership of Quality project leads as their functional manager.
  • Ensure the formulation and upkeep of essential Quality strategies, standards, procedures and processes integral to support a Right First Time approach across QA/QC activities.
  • Ensure the business compliance with all latest industry legislation, accreditation, requirements, and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide clear unequivocal Quality and Nuclear Safety leadership across all Nuclear operations.
  • Advisor to the New Nuclear Director on all Quality matters.
  • Be the point of contact for Client Quality teams, engaging and supporting all Client requirements and activities, obligations and ensuring compliance.
  • Recruit, develop and retain the core Quality New Nuclear team.
  • Development, ownership and maintenance of the Quality and Nuclear Safety governing strategies, processes, policies and procedures.
  • Implementation of Quality system performance and reporting across the business operations and the statistical analysis of indicators as improvement tools to drive right behaviours.
  • Coordination with the wide business units on Quality performance and improvement, contribution to forums, learning reports, strategies, and training.
  • Oversight and leadership of an evolving Quality team, selection of appropriate SQEP personnel and maintaining development plans.
  • Setup and maintenance of Quality function regularised meetings and team operational sessions, including maintenance of accurate records.
  • Contribution to key senior team development meetings, strategy setting and performance reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated in relevant Quality qualification.
  • Detailed experience of quality systems ISO 9001 and ISO 19443
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of Nuclear Safety Culture
  • Relevant professional accreditation
  • Significant demonstrable experience in a similar role in Nuclear sector projects
  • Demonstrable experience at senior leadership level, with a proven track record of setting strategic objectives to a successful delivery.
