As a Senior Cost Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial aspects of medium-sized projects, contributing to the success and profitability of our ventures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assume the role of a senior cost engineer for two standalone medium-sized projects, reporting directly to the Lead Cost Engineer.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive cost reports and associated documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Generate and analyze monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) reports to track project progress and financial performance.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports tailored to the specific requirements of each project.
  • Conduct thorough variance analysis on budget, actuals, and forecasts to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in the establishment and upkeep of project cost reporting systems and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Deliver meticulously detailed and robust cost reports to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and risk management.
  • Champion and uphold the Company’s change control procedures, ensuring transparency and accountability in cost management practices.
  • Provide dedicated support to the Lead Cost Engineer in fulfilling contract-specific reporting obligations and tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or possess relevant experience in cost engineering or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost management, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry, showcasing a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and dynamics.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and deliver results under tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to effectively liaise with project teams, third-party stakeholders, and clients to align on standards, systems, and processes.
  • Aptitude for proposing and implementing process improvements and innovations to optimize cost management practices and enhance project efficiency.
  • Track record of identifying and contributing to cost-related improvement initiatives, driving continuous enhancement of financial performance and project outcomes.
  • Proficient in IT tools and software, particularly Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel; familiarity with project cost management software, such as EcoSys, is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, enabling proactive identification and resolution of cost-related issues and challenges.
