  • Hybrid working available (50/50 split)
  • Hampshire based

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Hampshire.

Role Purpose of a Senior Quantity Surveyor:

We are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based at Testwood WTW with hybrid working available.  You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and you will be expected to take responsibility for the Commercial Management of Projects.

Job Role Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages
  • Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost
  • Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met
  • Manage the main NEC from of contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary
  • Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation
  • Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors
  • Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment
  • The preparation of project cost & value reports, budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff
  • Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations. 
  • Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
  • In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality


  • Degree or equivalent
  • Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution
  • Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors, non-infrastructure water would be advantageous
  • NEC3 Experience
  • Desirable
  • Experience of managing and developing an individual or small team
