Job Title: Crane Inspector – Nuclear Project
Location: Bridgewater
Contract Type: Contract - Outside IR35
Role Overview:
Responsible for the inspection and oversight of cranes and lifting equipment on a nuclear construction site, ensuring compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and project safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspect cranes (mobile, tower, crawler, overhead), MEWPs, HiAbs, telehandlers, and lifting accessories.

Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121, and site-specific lifting procedures.

Review and validate lift plans, RAMS, and equipment certifications.

Maintain inspection records and report findings with recommendations.

Liaise with lifting teams, contractors, and safety personnel.

Support incident investigations and QA audits.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Education: HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 equivalent.

Certifications: LEEA (Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent); CPCS/NPORS Appointed Person (desirable).

Experience:
-
5+ years inspecting cranes and lifting equipment.

Strong knowledge of LOLER/PUWER.

Experience with HiAbs, MEWPs, and various crane types.

Additional Requirements:
-
Nuclear clearance (or ability to obtain).
-
CSCS card required.
-
Physically fit and able to access elevated/confined areas.
-
Flexible with working hours and shifts.
