Offshore Scheduler

IR35: PAYE Only

Our Client has a requirement for an Offshore Scheduler, who will be required to work on a 2 year contract based in Barrow-in-Furness.

Role Purpose

The Offshore Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and optimising offshore maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely execution of work. The role supports high asset availability by integrating preventive and corrective maintenance activities within operational and resource constraints while ensuring compliance with Work Management processes and maintenance governance standards.

Working closely with Maintenance Team Leads, Technicians, Operations, and Vendors, the Offshore Scheduler plays a key role in developing achievable maintenance schedules that maximise efficiency, improve schedule compliance, and support safe offshore operations.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term, weekly, and frozen maintenance schedules aligned with offshore operational priorities.
• Prioritise and sequence maintenance activities based on safety, operational risk, production impact, and resource availability.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Team Leads, Technicians, Operations personnel, and Vendors to ensure work readiness and schedule alignment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are planned and scheduled in accordance with Work Management processes and governance requirements.
• Monitor maintenance backlog and support the timely progression of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Facilitate daily and weekly scheduling meetings to support effective communication and delivery of planned work.
• Optimise work execution by grouping tasks where appropriate and aligning logistics, materials, personnel, and equipment requirements.
• Ensure maintenance schedules are realistic, integrated, and achievable within operational constraints.
• Provide feedback on schedule performance, execution efficiency, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Promote an Incident Free Workplace culture and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Support effective communication of maintenance schedules and priorities to all relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to Work Management processes and SAP utilisation.
• Undertake any other associated duties as reasonably required.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

• Proven understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling principles within an operational environment.
• Experience using SAP and maintenance scheduling tools such as Prometheus and/or Primavera.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance practices.
• Ability to prioritise work activities based on risk, criticality, safety, and operational impact.
• Understanding of offshore health, safety, and environmental requirements and compliance standards.
• Strong coordination, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience within an offshore maintenance, oil & gas, energy, or operational environment preferred.
• Commitment to driving schedule compliance, efficiency improvements, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation.
• Relevant offshore certification such as BOSIET and MIST.
• Experience in an offshore maintenance or operations environment is desirable.
