Facilities Subcontract Manager

Keep Construction Running Smoothly: Coordinate Critical Site Facilities and Subcontractor Operations!

Our Client has a requirement for a Facilities Subcontract Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Padeswood.

Role Purpose:

• Manage and coordinate subcontractor service requirements relating to welfare facilities, personnel mobilisation, equipment/material laydown and waste disposal.
• Act as the primary liaison between the contracts team, construction team and subcontractors.
• Ensure smooth communication, compliance with project requirements and efficient on-site workflow.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Member of the site construction management team responsible for the coordination, supervision and management of subcontractors.
• Overall responsibility for managing welfare facilities, including all associated services and disposal requirements.
• Overall responsibility for personnel on-site management.
• Coordinate laydown areas and subcontractor equipment requirements.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractor work in line with project timelines, milestones and critical paths.
• Manage scaffold coordination activities.
• Review and track subcontractor contracts, scopes of work, insurance certificates, safety plans and compliance documentation.
• Communicate project updates, changes and deadlines to subcontractors and internal teams.
• Conduct pre-construction and coordination meetings to establish expectations and resolve conflicts.
• Monitor subcontractor performance relating to quality, safety and productivity, escalating issues where required.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with site safety standards, quality requirements and project specifications.
• Verify completion of work for progress payments and assist with invoice and payment tracking.
• Maintain accurate daily records, reports and logs covering subcontractor activities and site conditions.
• Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts, material shortages and scope discrepancies.
• Support subcontractor selection activities and contract preparation.
• Implement and maintain compliance with site safety procedures and construction safety plans.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Previous experience coordinating subcontractors within a construction environment.
• Strong understanding of site welfare management, personnel mobilisation and contractor coordination.
• Working knowledge of current health and safety legislation and associated responsibilities.
• Familiarity with site inductions, permits to work and safe systems of work.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
• Experience assessing and approving Method Statements.
• Understanding of COSHH requirements.
• Experience implementing and maintaining Construction Safety Plans.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
