Project Description:
• Responsible for the proof inspection of turbine blades, fixtures and associated equipment and working to component, tooling, and manufacture drawings.
• Responsible for the proving of inspection equipment used in the manufacture of turbine components. This component proving also includes the checking of drawings and planning to confirm that the part will 'make' the finished drawing.
• Writing and installing production CMM programs for turbine blades, and SPC measurement, assisting in the development of measurement strategies.
• Using inspection and sine tables, ball pins, slip gauges, various micrometers, verniers, height gauges, etc. Making in-depth calculations; trigonometry and mathematical formula, using necessary means (calculator, PC, etc.).
• Have the ability to apply and validate components in line with Global Quality Procedures.  Conforming to expect inspection and quality disciplines. Have personalised stamp for records purposes.
• Carries out first article inspection on all new and existing parts, using first principle and coordinate measurement techniques and to prove the integrity of production and inspection fixtures.
• Act as calibration authority for creation of working component models.
• Undertakes periodic proof / calibration checks on production masters including those used on the robotised machines.
• Carry out component audit checks at random, based on their own initiative. Carry out blade investigations and raise reports at the request of the Quality Manager.

Essential Skills:
• Served a recognised apprenticeship in Engineering.
• Equipped to interpret component drawings; specifically turbine blades
• Familiarity with programming CMMs, ideally with Measurlink
• An up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures.

This will be working on a 3 shift rotation and the successful candidate must be prepared to work all shift patterns.
