One of our Clients is looking for a Document Controller to work on a Contract Basis.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Control of Project documentation is carried out in line with the Company Quality Procedures and Design Guides with regard to logging, copy and distribution, storage (electronic or hard copy), document transmittals, revision control and drawing / document register

  • Liaison with project management, discipline engineers, procurement and alliance partners to ensure that document control requirements are met

  • Represents the interests of the company in all interactions with the client

  • Ad hoc duties as directed by the Project Manager to assist the project team

  • Assist the Project Manager and / or the Project Engineer as and when required such as producing written documents and reports on document status

  • Ensure all templates used conform to the CMS Document Management System

Processes

  • Register all incoming and outgoing project documents, ensuring all documents and drawings are provided with transmittals

  • Maintain an electronic record in the project folder of all documents received and issued

  • Extract all relevant documents to be transmitted from the controlled file and compile, in presentation files, full design packages of work including drawings produced on CAD and other required documentation, ensuring that all design packages are presented in a complete, authorised as Design Guides, common and high quality manner.

  • Send documents to each recipient as identified by the engineer

  • Confirm to recipient that docs have been sent and to advise expected response date if relevant

  • Act as the focal point for the receipt of all customer and 3rd party documentation as required for projects

  • Liaison with customer representatives or other 3rd party in the control and distribution of documentation

  • Control the archiving of all required project documentation, both electronic and hard copies

Experience and Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience of project and functional document control within relevant process industries

  • Evidence of Project Support Software – MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, EDMS (e.g.  Access, Documentum), AutoCAD

  • Must have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s (One must include min of grade C in English Language)

  • Secondary education to Higher Grade level
