Join a high-impact nuclear site delivering critical plant reliability and safety improvements
Our Client has a requirement for a Plant Support Engineer – Electrical, who will be required to work on a contract (Inside IR35) basis in Cumbria.
Role Purpose:
- Support engineering and maintenance teams on a major nuclear site
- Deliver improvements in plant reliability, performance, and safety
- Ensure electrical systems operate efficiently within a highly regulated environment
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Support engineering and maintenance teams in delivering plant reliability and performance improvements
- Develop and implement electrical maintenance strategies
- Ensure compliance with site safety standards and procedures
- Manage and maintain plant configuration control
- Work within established site processes and procedures (SLMS)
- Identify and deliver plant reliability solutions
- Provide technical input into maintenance and operational activities
- Communicate effectively across engineering and operational teams
- Maintain high standards in documentation, reporting, and technical records
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Strong background in electrical maintenance, reliability, and safety
- Experience working in highly regulated environments (ideally nuclear or similar)
- Familiarity with:Site & Compliance Requirements:
- Plant configuration control
- Safety management procedures
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong people management and communication skills
- Good level of technical literacy and reporting ability
- Local to site or willing to be fully site-based
- Security Clearance required
- Hold P4 authorisation (minimum)
- Experience with:
- Site systems, models, and IT platforms
- Building and plant access permissions
- Unescorted access capability
- Additional (Preferred):
- Previous experience at Sellafield
- Strong knowledge of site-specific systems and procedures
- Experience in maintenance-led plant environments
